Your Bookkeeper Enters the Classroom

Denise Worrell, CEO and founder of Your Bookkeeper, joined hands with the Junior Achievement Program, Medford Business Association, and Shawnee High School this past fall to teach a first period business class at Shawnee High School once a week for seven weeks.

Melissa DerPilbosian, the business teacher who heads up Shawnee High School’s DECA Program, worked with the Medford Business Association to bring J.A. into her classroom.  The program works by using volunteers from the business community to teach the grade-appropriate curriculum and web development through WebDesign499.

“It was like riding a bike,” described Worrell, a former High School English teacher– turned enterpreneur, “I know the subject, I love kids, and I had a blast!”
